Computerized Examination

After the scribe proofreads the Sefer Torah ,Tefillin or Mezuzah, it is checked again by a computer. Having been fed all the necessary data, the computer ensures that there are no missing or extraneous words, letters or markings. This is done after the scribe, with his human limitations, has already checked the item, and even if several Halachic examinations have found it to be unfit. In any case, a state-of-the-art computer check is not enough - Halacha requires that the item be examined by a competent scribe.
